Windmills
Westmill Wind Farm Co-operative Ltd is a community-owned Industrial and Provident Society that owns 100% of the Westmill Wind Farm which is an onshore wind farm near the village of Watchfield in the Vale of White Horse, England. It was the first community owned onshore wind farm in the south of England and generates electricity which feeds into the National Grid.
There are five magnificent white wind turbines which still divide the local community – are they Romantic objects of beauty or blots on the landscape? Is this forward thinking in terms of energy or backwards in terms of man yet again despoiling the countryside?
